    Special Event Permits


    Would you like to hold an event in the City of Ypsilanti?  Visit our Permit Center to understand what type of permit your event requires. 
    At present, staff from multiple departments work with the Recreation Commission and with numerous volunteer groups to provide park maintenance and programming.   
    Each of the four major recreational facilities has an associated volunteer "Friends" group:

    Friends of the Ypsilanti Freighthouse
    Friends of the Rutheford Pool
    Friends of the Senior Center
    Friends of Parkridge Community Center

    Friends groups and other volunteers manage the daily operations of these respective recreation facilities, including fundraising to pay facility staff.
