The Forest Bridge over the Huron River closed on July 5th, and its rehabilitation work is anticipated to be complete and reopen mid-late November.
This work included deck patching, shallow concrete deck overlay, pier cap replacement, bearing replacement at pier, approach reconstruction, guardrail replacement, slope paving repairs, and sidewalk (including sidewalk widening on the south side to accommodate the Border to Border Trail), as well as necessary related work. This project is largely funded by a competitive grant from the Michigan Department of Transportation’s Local Bridge Fund.
