Work on the I-94/Huron Street bridge is beginning the week of June 6th as part of the MDOT trunkline maintenance and pedestrian pathway project. There are nighttime closures planned beginning Tuesday night/Wednesday morning, 6/7, through Friday night/Saturday morning, 6/11, of lanes on I-94 as well as some of the on-ramps at Huron, from approximately 9PM to approximately 5AM.
- One lane northbound and one lane southbound will remain open on Huron/Hamilton.
- The ramp from NB Huron to WB 94 will be closed.
- The ramp from SB Huron (Hamilton) to EB 94 will be closed.
- I-94 under the bridge will be reduced to one lane in each direction.
These closures are necessary to install safety equipment under the bridge to allow the work atop the bridge to proceed. This nighttime work needs to be complete before topside work can proceed. Lane closures must remain in place during this time.
This project is part of a two-year planned improvement to the water, sewer, and road infrastructure within the City.
